At Whatcom Crisis Services we stress the importance of assisting our
clients through the process of making their own decisions. Staff and volunteers
at the agency assist clients by providing support, helping to identify
options and providing information about local resources. Clients are not
given advice or told what to do. The agency maintains a philosophy that
values the clients' ability and right to make their own decisions and to
help themselves.
Whatcom Crisis Services also values the confidentiality and anonymity
of its clients, volunteers and staff. All information of this nature is
kept in the strictest of confidence. In addition, all client services,
with the exception of the Abuse Control Training Program, are provided
at no charge. This is made possible by the thousands of hours of service
donated every year by our trained community volunteers. These volunteers
are responsible for providing almost all client services.
